Music Department Meetings

I was wandering through the woods on a brisk Sunday afternoon, pondering and ruminating upon the previous weeks excursions and exploits, as well as wondering whether it was actually in my best interest not to be wearing shoes on ground that was just as much broken glass from beer bottles as it was dirt and twigs when I suddenly realized I had accidentally wondered downtown and into a cafe. It was here I figured it was about time I gave this new fangled "World Wide Internets" thing a shot, considering all the hype it's been getting lately. It is, after all, nothing if not the world's largest bulletin board for misinformation and every variety of pornography (human, animal or otherwise), who would want to miss out?

My first order of business is to advertise once again the music department meetings. Why? Because everyone likes music. At least, everyone on this website likes music. You are in the wrong place if you don't, and I am amazed that your race of underground bureaucratic gnomes have managed to break from your rigid schedule long enough to stumble upon an entertainment website.

Here at WONY, we do our best to provide the public with the best in music programming. Our rotation selection is far reaching and wide, offering anything from the sounds of the General Clinton Pub to a cafe in downtown Tokyo. But, things slip through the cracks. We can only listen to so much in a day. This is where you come in. If you know something that totally does not suck, review it and bring it to the Music Department meetings or simply give it to a genre director. You can also ask a genre director or myself to review one of the billions of brand new CDs we get every week. You remember reviews, right? It was that thing we made you do as a trainee, except this time you will be reviewing music you actually like. This is a great way to help your station better represent the DJs and the listening public of Oneonta.

Of course, if you need a more selfish reason to help out, it may help you get a good time slot next semester. Just saying.

The music department meets every Tuesday at 8PM. If you need to reach me, my office hours are from 12-2 on Mondays and Wednesdays, or email me at wonymusic@gmail.com. I'm also available just about all of the time, as the main office is my second home.

Just remember, if you don't come to the music meetings, the terrorists win.
